In the artical that I found by Pamela Wiggins called - "Recycling with Antiques, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle Like an Antiquer". This article talks about buying and putting to use items that you can find at thrift stores, flea markets, or even antique shops. My personal favorite place to go is a local place in downtown Janesville here and it's called Carousel Consignments. They have large selctions of items to find and you can spend hours looking thorough just their book section alone! While they mainly focus on antiques, they also have a variety of items to appeal to everyone!

Ivory
One article that I found through the Huffington Post was an article titled “Google Ivory Ads In Japan Fuel Demand, Conservation Group Claims”, by Todd Pitman. The article talks about the acceleration of elephant ivory harvesting, with “killing of African elephants at record levels”. It goes on to talk about how the high demand is due to largely to China, Thailand, and Japan. How Google fits in to the story is that many conservation groups are saying that the buying and selling for Asia is being fueled by Google adds. The use of this ivory is for Hanko’s or a type of Asian stamp, this stamp is used as a form of marking or signing. They are used for things from signing documents, to opening a bank account. The ivory in these stamps is what makes up the actual bottom of the stamp which is required in creating each individually unique Hanko. The article also touches base on the fact that there used to be about 5 million elephants roaming the African lands, but now there are a few hundred thousand.

Eco Chic
In
my life the most extensive that my recycling lifestyle gets is properly
disposing of plastic bottles and using the recycling bin for paper. For this Easter season my church does not
have us give something up, but take on something. Whether it be volunteering to exercising every
day! So what I have decided to take on was learn something new every day, such
as; ‘in 2005 8.8 tons of waste was contributed to furniture, which is quadruple
the tonnage since 1960’ (earth911.com).
This site and articles have tons of ways to help anyone figure out what
to do with their drab and sad old pieces of furniture. It has ideas and ways to help your out dated
furniture to give it new life, or it will help you find a proper disposal
